A short statement of the proposed artwork's relationship to the theme of "Light and Shadows" (150-500 words).
I decided to take my subject matter back to the idea of Aphrodite from Sumerian, Greek and Roman myth. She is passionate and free, a force which is ungovernable and irresistable. My use of the idea of "light & shadow" for this piece was in the execution of light source and shadow play bringing the figure forward into the foreground. A deeper rendered style of chiaroscuro if you will.
